It opened in 1898, and contains a collection of objects, photographs, prints and film which give a unique view into how Glaswegians lived, worked and played from the Victorian era up to the present day. We visited a couple of years ago, and loved the three portraits of Billy Connelly that had been commissioned for his 75th birthday - those portraits have also been made into enormous murals on the sides of buildings around the city!
